Diagnostic Services
Trousdale Medical Center offers a variety of diagnostic services to help physicians make accurate diagnosis and formulate treatment plans. Trousdale Medical Center recently installed a Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). PACS is a computer network dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images from various types of diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, CTs, and x-rays. PACS replaces film archives. One of the primary benefits of PACS has been the decrease in patient wait time for diagnostic services. Other benefits of PACS include decrease supply cost since there is no longer a need to develop films, more storage space since there are no films to store, and the ability to access films quickly since everything is stored on the computer. |
